Out of the forty-eight nations qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, twenty-six teams were already participants in the previous edition held in Qatar in 2022. Four other teams are making a significant return to the global stage after missing the 2022 tournament, with their last appearance dating back to 2018. Furthermore, six national teams haven’t played in a World Cup since the beginning of the 21st century, marking a long-awaited comeback.
