Following Olympique de Marseille’s (OM) qualification for the Europa League after their 3-1 victory over Rennes, which secured them 5th place in the league, OM’s sporting director, Medhi Benatia, has shed light on the reasons behind his decision to leave the club.
Benatia stated that he did not simply decide to stay home after his departure. His departure was not a passive decision; he actively chose to move on, implying that the circumstances within the club led to his exit. He also directed criticism towards the owner, Frank McCourt, suggesting that disagreements or issues with ownership were a significant factor in his decision.
