Cameron Hanekom, the talented Springboks prospect, has been sidelined since June. The Bulls` number eight, who impressively debuted for the South African national team last year, is currently recuperating from a challenging hamstring tear.

Recovery Progress and Emotional Journey

Hanekom recently provided an update on his rehabilitation process: “Rehabilitation is progressing remarkably well, and I started running a few weeks ago, which means the return date is drawing nearer. I anticipate being back on the field in approximately one month. This could tentatively coincide with the match against the Lions on November 29th or the game against Bordeaux on December 6th.”

Reflecting on the emotional toll of his injury, the 23-year-old rugby player shared: “Initially, it was incredibly tough watching the Springboks from the sidelines. I felt a lot of anguish seeing them play and knowing I had a genuine chance to be out there. There were moments when I felt a bit sorry for myself, but ultimately, I realized that no one could motivate me better than myself. So, I began to focus on celebrating small victories and diligently controlling what was within my power. Specifically, I dedicated myself to intensive upper body training. I worked hard to build muscle and increase my physical presence. Now, I`m able to channel my efforts into becoming even stronger and faster.”
