Present in Paris this Friday, on the eve of the friendly match between Senegal and Peru at the Stade de France, former iconic Teranga Lions striker El-Hadji Diouf expressed his strong conviction regarding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title. Diouf asserted that his country would deserve a “third star” should their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) prove successful. This follows the controversial decision by CAF to declare Morocco winners by default, effectively stripping Senegal of the title.
Beyond this immediate contestation, the ex-Lens player also emphasized his broader desire to promote a positive and commendable image of African football on the international stage.
