After starting at Croatian National Championships at the end of April Unior Downhill Cup continues in Slovenia this weekend. For second year in a row the race at Soriška planina will also double as Slovenian National Championships race.
This will be the seventh edition of Soriška planina downhill race held on the mountain pass ski resort between Železniki and Lake Bohinj. A great way to escape the heat wave as well. The event is a result of cooperation between MTB Železniki club and Soriška planina resort (Soriška planina AlpVenture).
The Vajnar chairlift will be bringing riders to the start of classic 1.65 km track with a vertical drop of 280 meters.
Monika Hrastnik will be doing her best to secure her sixth national title and Špela Horvat will try to make it harder for her. The 2021 men’s champion Luka Berginc will be sitting this one after he already missed a World Cup race and European Championships due to a concussion.
It will be a fight of new kids on the block in the junior and younger categories.
