Fly-half Fin Smith is on the verge of becoming the highest-paid player in Northampton Saints` history, marking a significant milestone for both the club and the athlete. His new contract is reported to be worth a substantial £600,000 per year, which will also make him the fourth highest earner across the entire English Premiership.
To put this in perspective, current Saracens star Owen Farrell earns £550,000 annually. Smith`s new salary places him among the elite earners, surpassed only by Bristol flanker Steven Luatua (£620,000), Saracens lock Maro Itoje (£750,000), and Bath fly-half Finn Russell, who leads the league with a £1,000,000 annual income.
In addition to securing Smith`s future, the Saints are actively working to retain other key members of their squad. The club is reportedly close to finalizing contract extensions with several prominent players, including George Furbank, Fraser Dingwall, Tommy Freeman, Alex Mitchell, and Alex Coles, as they aim to solidify their roster for upcoming seasons.
