Jeremy Erlich, former Spotify executive, has acquired a significant stake in the French rugby club Biarritz.
In recent years, Biarritz Olympique has faced severe financial difficulties, nearly leading to its relegation to the third division. SAB Rugby LLC, an investment company owned by Erlich, is now poised to stabilize the “Basques`” financial situation and help the club overcome its challenges.
“Biarritz Olympique is much more than just a club. It is an organization imbued with history and passion,” commented the former Spotify executive. “Our goal is to provide it with the means to achieve its ambitions – to return to the top of rugby. We deeply believe in the potential of this project and in the strength of the Basque Country.”
Following six rounds of play, Biarritz currently stands 14th out of 16 teams in the Pro D2 league, highlighting the immediate need for a turnaround.
