While the French national team has secured its hotel in Boston for the 2026 World Cup, the selection of its training center remains uncertain. Negotiations with Babson College are currently stalled, potentially paving the way for an alternative choice.

The French staff had anticipated potential delays in this process. It is confirmed that the Four Seasons hotel in Boston will serve as France’s base camp during the 2026 World Cup. However, the location of the training facilities is still under review.

Discussions with Babson College, a private university situated 25 kilometers from the team’s hotel, have reached an impasse. The institution is reportedly demanding significant financial contributions, and the quality of its grass pitches is not deemed satisfactory, hindering the finalization of agreements.

An Alternative Explored

With contracts between FIFA, the French team, and Babson College yet to be signed, a shift in plans is imminent if the disagreement persists. The French squad has already identified a fallback option.

The French staff visited the campus of Bentley University on Wednesday morning. Located northwest of Boston, just a 30-minute bus ride from downtown, Bentley offers promising facilities, including a large hockey arena, quality changing rooms, and a functional strength and conditioning area.

While some adjustments would be necessary to meet the French team’s specific requirements, the site also boasts a nearby baseball field that could be used for specialized training. For now, no final decision has been made, but Bentley University is being seriously considered as a viable option.
