Northampton`s captain has been consistently plagued by various injuries in recent months, impacting his ability to return to the field.
Northampton commenced their new season without their influential captain, George Furbank. The 28-year-old fullback has unfortunately endured a series of debilitating setbacks over the past year. In December, he suffered a broken arm during a match against the Bulls, followed by a re-injury to the same area. Furthermore, in a significant blow, he was forced off the field due to a concussion within the opening minutes of the Champions Cup final against Bordeaux.
More recent issues, specifically with his calf muscles, have only compounded his predicament, leaving the talented player without a clear timeline for his much-anticipated return. According to Furbank himself, the constant disruptions and repeated delays to his recovery schedule have collectively made this period one of the most challenging of his entire professional career.
While the club remains optimistic that Furbank will be able to return to action in the coming weeks, an official date for his full recovery and reintegration into the squad has yet to be announced.
