Preview Historic Dual Grand Départs: Tour de France Returns to UK in 2027

The prestigious cycling events, the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift (the women`s counterpart), are set to commence in the United Kingdom in 2027. This will be a historic occasion, marking the first time both the men`s and women`s Grand Départs (Grand Starts) are organized in the same country outside of France.

Notably, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift has never before been held in the UK, but its 2027 route will span across England, Scotland, and Wales. The men`s race will kick off in Edinburgh, signifying the event`s return to Britain since stages were last hosted in Yorkshire and London in 2014. The UK`s initial hosting of the Tour was in 2007.

Christian Prudhomme, General Director of the Tour de France, expressed his delight: “The Tour de France and the UK share a profound history, and I am thrilled to bring the Grand Départ to this nation in 2027. Britain has consistently welcomed the Tour with immense enthusiasm and national pride, and this collaborative effort across England, Scotland, and Wales guarantees an even more extraordinary event.”
