The coaches of the youth rugby teams, “Krasny Yar-m” and “Lokomotiv-m,” shared their insights following their final match of the season.
Comments from Sergey Kolosov, Head Coach of Lokomotiv-m:
“I believe we didn`t fully recover after our previous encounter with Enisey, and perhaps the team lacked some psychological readiness. Given that we had already defeated Yar in Penza, this might have presented an unexpected challenge for us today. Additionally, our opponents fielded a very strong lineup. For us, this game serves as valuable experience for future growth. Naturally, we could have performed better.”
Comments from Alexey Skripnik, Head Coach of Krasny Yar-m:
“We were aware that Lokomotiv often leaves space behind their high defensive line, so our instruction was to actively use kicks and send the ball into open areas. However, for some reason, the players opted for a different approach, preferring to play with their hands and move the ball out wide. During halftime, I asked them to adjust this, but in the second half, the game`s dynamic significantly decreased. There were many errors in the first half, but these were masked by the players` initial energy. As their strength waned, it directly impacted our performance and the number of points scored.”
