Renowned coach Michael Cheika is set to make a significant transition to the National Rugby League (NRL), where he will assume the pivotal role of forwards coach for the prestigious Sydney Roosters club. His appointment is scheduled to commence in November, strategically positioning him ahead of the team`s rigorous pre-season preparations.
Cheika recently concluded his tenure with the English club Leicester Tigers. This followed their hard-fought defeat in the Premiership final against Bath in June. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held leadership positions with the Australian and Argentinian national rugby union teams, in addition to coaching prominent clubs such as the Waratahs and Stade Français. Demonstrating his versatility and deep commitment to the sport, he has also served as the head coach for the Lebanon national rugby league team since 2020.
