После триумфальной победы в чемпионате Про Д2, регбийный клуб «Монтобан» планировал наградить своих игроков поездкой на испанский остров Ибица. Однако, когда наступил момент бронирования билетов и отелей, выяснилось, что на командном счету отсутствовала значительная сумма денег.
Жером Босвиель, недавно признанный лучшим игроком сезона в Про Д2, взял на себя ответственность за пропажу. В откровенном интервью он рассказал: «Я увлекся азартными играми, покером и ставками. Я долго скрывал это от всех, мне было стыдно, и я не хотел быть плохим примером. Все взятые суммы я фиксировал в блокноте с твердым намерением вернуть каждую копейку. Я понимал, что это неправильно, но не мог остановиться, постоянно думая о возврате долга.»
Признание Босвиеля состоялось на командном собрании после победы. «Конечно, это был шок для ребят, но я чувствовал, что должен им всё рассказать. Некоторые до сих пор злы на меня, и я понимаю их разочарование. Я уже вернул сумму, превышающую ту, что брал. Теперь моё единственное желание – снова просто играть в регби», – поделился 35-летний флай-хав.
Montauban Rugby Star Gambles Away Team`s Holiday Budget, Cancelling Trip
Prominent Pro D2 player Jérôme Bosviel has admitted to a significant financial transgression, jeopardizing the team`s budget and ruining a well-deserved holiday.
Following a triumphant victory in the Pro D2 championship, the Montauban rugby club had planned to reward its players with a celebratory trip to the Spanish island of Ibiza. However, when it came time to book flights and accommodation, it was discovered that a substantial sum of money was missing from the team`s account.
Jérôme Bosviel, recently named the Pro D2 Player of the Season, took responsibility for the disappearance of the funds. In a candid interview, he explained: “I became addicted to gambling, poker, and betting. I hid it from everyone for a long time; I was ashamed and didn`t want to set a bad example. I meticulously recorded all the amounts I took in a notebook, with the firm intention of returning every single cent. I knew it was wrong, but it was stronger than me, and I constantly thought about repaying the debt.”
Bosviel`s confession took place during a team meeting after their victory. “Of course, it was a shock for the guys, but I felt I had to tell them everything. Some are still angry with me, and I understand their disappointment. I have already returned more than the amount I took. Now my only desire is to simply play rugby again,” shared the 35-year-old fly-half.
