Preview Van Graan Confirms Carreras’ Return to Bath Post-Rugby Championship

Bath Rugby`s Director of Rugby, Johann van Graan, has officially confirmed the return of Santiago Carreras to the club squad. The Argentine fly-half will rejoin the team following the conclusion of his commitments in the Rugby Championship.

Carreras, who moved to Bath from Gloucester during the offseason, has yet to make his debut for his new club as he has been representing the Argentine national team. His return is critically important for Bath, as the team faced a significant shortage of fly-halves at the start of the season.

The club`s primary playmaker, Finn Russell, is currently on mandatory rest after his tour with the British and Irish Lions. Furthermore, his understudy, Ciaran Donoghue, sustained a knee injury during pre-season training. Due to these circumstances, the coaching staff was forced to improvise, deploying young players like James Linegar and even centre Max Ojomoh in the fly-half position.
