The historic journey of the South African women`s rugby team, known as the Springbok Women, to the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup marked the most-watched event in the history of women`s rugby in the nation.

During the recent Rugby World Cup, the South African women`s national team shattered all previous television audience records. Notably, their quarter-final clash against New Zealand captivated nearly half a million live viewers (484,265), setting an unprecedented benchmark for women`s sports broadcasts in South Africa.

An analysis by Nielsen Sports revealed that the cumulative unique viewership for all four Springbok Women`s matches at the World Cup reached an impressive 1.27 million people. Compared to previous periods, the number of unique viewers surged by 334%, while the total viewing time saw an astonishing increase of 673%.
