Zwift is introducing several new features for the upcoming summer season, most notably the addition of the iconic Montmartre climb to its virtual Paris map.
Zwift, the global online fitness platform for cyclists, announced a range of product and content developments scheduled for release between spring and summer. These updates aim to cater to every Zwifter, featuring an enriched Paris map, abundant gravel routes, new bikes, enhanced planning tools within the Zwift Companion app, and expanded progression levels for both cycling and running.
April Highlights
- Personalized Recommendations: Recently introduced, these help Zwifters spend less time planning and more time riding. With summer approaching in the Northern Hemisphere, users can now view outdoor activity recommendations in Zwift Companion.
- Weekly Planning: For those who prefer to organize their training, Zwift now offers the ability to plan one’s entire week directly within the Zwift Companion app.
- Zwift Camp: Breakthrough: The final installment of this winter season’s Zwift Camp programs launches on April 6. This camp features five workouts focused on physical conditioning, alongside exercises to enhance technique, stability, and control.
- Gravel Mountain: The first map entirely dedicated to gravel riding arrives on Zwift on April 6. Reserved for events, Gravel Mountain promises the fastest and most thrilling gravel experience on Zwift, complete with dust, speed, and technical routes.
- PAS Racing Series: This series introduces the fastest and most dynamic racing experience on Zwift, bringing the performance and style of Pas Normal Studios to a demanding, competitive, and refined new form of gravel racing.
- Increased Level Cap: The previous level 100 cap has been removed, offering hundreds of new levels for Zwifters to achieve, whether they are rounding up their rides for bragging rights or extra XP.
- Zwift Drop Shop Overhaul: The Zwift Drop Shop, where Zwifters spend their hard-earned Drops on the latest bikes and wheels, is undergoing its biggest redesign yet. Over the next 12 months, numerous new gear items will be added, with 18 new bikes and 13 new wheelsets arriving this spring and summer.
Summer Highlights
- Customizable Data Fields: Whether participating in Zwift Camp: Breakthrough or any of the more than 1,000 available workouts, the option to customize data fields in workout mode will significantly enhance the user experience. Zwifters can select from 13 biometric data points, ranging from cadence (RPM) to body temperature and power-to-weight ratio (W/kg).
- Tour Fever Challenge: As the official software platform for the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, the platform will celebrate with six weeks of festivities, including the return of the popular Tour Fever Challenge.
- Montmartre Climb in Paris: The virtual Paris map, originally created for the Tour de France, will become even more iconic with the addition of the renowned Montmartre climb. This update allows Zwifters to ascend the cobbled streets leading to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
- Hybrid Indoor/Outdoor Challenges: Zwift challenges, known for their engaging rewards, are highly popular. This summer, the experience extends outdoors with the planned launch of Zwift’s first-ever hybrid indoor/outdoor challenges.
